Summer Fun!!

We have had such a great summer!! I can not believe school starts in just 3 weeks. My baby, Dagan, will be starting Pre-K this year. I have gotten so bad at blogging! The truth is that it is so much easier to snap a picture with my phone and upload it straight to Facebook. I just can not find time to sit in front of the computer to make a blog post. But here are some pictures from our wonderful summer!! (I have edited this post about 5 times and can not get rid of the big space at the top? Any ideas???)

I have a new nephew!! Colten Ray was born Monday, March 7th at 6:55 pm. He weighs 6 lbs 5 ozs and is 19 3/4 inches. Congratulations to my beautiful sister Brittany and my brother in law Charlie!!

Wow, is it really the end of November? Christmas will be here before I even know it (and before I am ready!) We spend Thanksgivng at Fayettevile, AR with my grandma. It was so fun to see family that I really dont get to see that much. We took the boys to the Square to see the Christmas lights. Their favorite part was riding the camel!

We live really close to Lawton, OK so we decided one day to take the boys over to see the old military vehicles and they loved it!

Well I have not blogged in forever and basically it is just because I don't have the time! I went back to work (ya!). I absolutely love my job!! This year we have 24 children in our class. Honestly, this class is much more difficult than last year. I addition to working I am also going to college full time which means all of my classes are in the evening. It makes running the house and spending time with my hubs and boys very hard, but I know that when I get done it will be so worth it! Koy has started a new season of soccer. Unfortunately this past Saturday was his first game and he had a stomach bug that is going around and did not get to play. He is feeling much better now so I will have some pictures next weekend. I took Dagan to the doctor last week for a check up and his doctor is worried about a loud heart murmur that he has so we have to take him to OU Children's Hospital on Friday for an EKG. Please keep us in your prayers that this is not a major issue, but of course the doctor basically just making us worry more with all the stuff he told us that it could be. A few weeks ago we took the boys to the OKC Zoo. They have opened a new children's section that is so much fun! Lots of hands-on things for the kids.

We took a long weekend and took the boys to visit famiy in Fayetteville, AR and then to Silver Dollar City in Branson. The boys were super excited to see Spongebob and Patrick. We also went to the Air Museum, which the boys really enjoyed. It is right by a small airport so we got to watch planes taking off and landing!

Koy turned 6 last week and we celebrated with a pool party on Friday.

We are going on a mini vacation later this week. We are going to visit my family in Fayetteville, AR and taking the boys to Silver Dollar City in Branson. Between the crazy hours Roy has been working and me taking summer classes, this is the first vacation we have taken this summer. The boys are very excited to get away for a little bit! It is not much longer until school starts and I will have a big First Grader!!

We spent our rainy, soggy July 4th at my grandparents house. We grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs and enjoyed chatting with my family. Neither of my boys like fireworks at all! Dagan is scared of the noise and Koy just has other things to be doing besides sitting watching them! I managed to snap a few pictures in the small amount of dryness that we had!

Wow it has been a long time since I have blogged! We have been crazy busy! Koy's soccer season just ended after many makeup games from all the rain we have had! School is our for summer and I am enjoying time with my boys :) I am taking some college classes this summer so those start next week. Roy is going out of town this weekend with some friends so the boys and I are going to plan some fun stuff.

We have been very busy spending time with Roy's mother. She has been diagnosed with late stage 4 gallbladder cancer. The doctor has said it is inoperable and has sent her home to be with family. She is currently staying with Roy's brother. Please keep our family in your prayers as this is a very difficult thing to go through. It has happened very suddenly and is progressing very quickly.

Happy Birthday to my baby boy Dagan!!! He turns 3 years old today! We had a Batman themed skating party for him. It had been so long since most of us had been on skates but we had a blast!! Dagan has found a new favorite movie.."Toy Story". He got lots of Toy Story things including both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 movies. I have lots more pictures, but I really hate the way that Blogger uploads them so head over to Facebook to see the rest :)

The Rugged Outdoors

Last weekend we took the boys to do some hiking. Koy had so much fun leading us around on all the rocks! He is so excited to join Boy Scouts next year. He definitely took after his daddy on the outdoor stuff! I think my husband would live in a tent by the lake all year! I enjoy camping, but I have to have a bathroom and shower close by! Dagan is more of a daredevil! He was jumping all over the rocks and did not want any help! We took a picnic lunch and had a great Sunday afternoon! We are leaving tomorrow to go to my grandma's house in Fayetteville, AR and taking the boys to Branson to go to Silver Dollar City. We are enjoying Spring Break and I can't wait for the Spring weather to get here!!!

Koy has started his first season of wrestling. It was very hard at first to watch my little boy out there "fighting" another kids, but he is doing so well!! He really enjoys it. Soccer sign-ups are next weekend. We are running around like crazy with one boy in sports, I have not idea how I am going to make it when Dagan starts......

I realize I am a little late with my post, but we had such a great time that I really wanted to post the pictures. We took the two older boys to Oklahoma City for the night. Despite the cold, we had so much fun!! We started out going to an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game. It was a blast!! OKC won by 1 point. We then walked back to our hotel and warmed up before we went outside to watch them raise the ball and shoot fireworks at midnight. When we were walking through the lobby to go to our room, we saw Paul Thompson that played football at OU. He was such a nice guy and signed an autograph for the boys and took a picture with them. On Friday, we ate lunch at Hooters (I know, I know..but the food is wonderful!!!) and headed home to pick up Dagan who stayed the night with his grandma.

Merry Christmas and a Trip to the ER

We had a wonderful (and snowy) Christmas. Koy was so excited that Santa brought him a new bike and Dagan got a Batman Cave. They have played with that thing for 4 days straight! The snow delayed some of our plans. We were suppose to go to my grandparent's house about 30 miles away on Christmas Day, but we did not make it up there until Sunday. We were going to leave Christmas evening to go to Fayetteville, AR to visit my other grandparents, but so far we have not made it up there. We are suppose to get another snow storm tonight, I just hope it is not as bad as the last one we got!

Sunday night Dagan was going to stay the night with his grandparents and we were going to take Trey and Koy to dinner and the movies. We left and were trying to decide where to eat when I got a phone call.....Dagan had fell and hit his head on the coffee table. We turned around and went back and decided that Dagan needed to go to the ER. They glued his cut and told us to wake him up every 3 hours at night. It was pretty scary, but he is just fine.

Christmas Parade

On Saturday, we took the boys to the Christmas Parade. It was soo cold, but the boys loved it! They were so excited at see Santa at the end of the parade. We have been having so much fun watching all the old Christmas cartoons on TV! Koy is looking forward to a break from school. We have lots of fun things planned for my classroom. This Friday we are all wearing our pajamas and we are going to drink hot chocolate and watch The Polar Express. Next week is our Christmas party and we are having a book exchange between the kids. Now if only I could get my shopping done....

This was the first Halloween that the boys were really old enough to get out and do anything. The weather was perfect and we had so much fun! On Friday night we went to a Fall Festival at the local family center/gym. The boys played games, bounced in the bouncy house and we went on a hay ride. Then on Saturday night we went to Trunk or Treat at church and then door-to-door trick or treating. Dagan LOVED it!!! He would run up there, ring the doorbell, say "tricktreat", hold out his basket and just smile away!! At one house they gave out raisins and Koy was sooo excited!! He liked them more then the candy!

Well things have been crazy around here!! Koy has his last football game this Saturday. I am so glad because it is starting to get very cold!! Dagan is potty trained!!! He still wears diapers at night, just in case. But so far he is doing great. I got a new job and I love it!! I am a teacher's assistant at our Pre-K center. It is so much fun to work with all the kids and the hours are wonderful!!

So there will be no pictures on this post because my camera is b-r-o-k-e-n!! I am very sad and have found several times when I would reach for the camera and remember..... Anyway, lots of stuff going on here. Koy had his tonsils out yesterday and he is doing very well. The doctor said that days 3 and 4 would be the worst so we are just waiting for the crash! Dagan is almost potty trained!!! I am looking forward to the day when I can make a trip to Wal-Mart without having to buy diapers! Oh Happy Day!!! I just remembered that I have not shown Koy's picture from the first day of Kindergarten!! He is doing great at school and I am so proud of him!!

We took our vacation a little late in the summer, but hey, it was so worth it!! We took a trip down to San Antonio. We left on Tuesday after work and drove about 5 hours to Austin and stayed in a hotel, then on Wednesday morning we drove about 1 1/2 hours to Sea World. The boys LOVED seeing the animals, but I think the favorite part was petting the dolphins. It was amazing! They would just come right up to you and open wide for a fish.

On Thursday, we spent the day downtown at the RiverWalk. We went to the Children's Museum, Alamo, Towers of the Americas, and ate at Hard Rock Cafe. Our hotel was right on the RiverWalk so we did not even have to get in the car. Just pop the kids in the strollers and off we went!

On Friday, it was back to Seaworld. They have a water park included with the park and the weather was soo hot it was good to cool off in the spash pool. We started the drive home on Saturday and stopped in Dallas for a little shopping. I am now in full back to school mode! Koy starts kindergarten on Thursday. He also starts football practice on Aug. 24th and has to have his tonsils out on Aug. 26th. I am exausted just thinking about this month!!

On Father's Day we took the boys to Sulpher to swim and visit the Chickasaw National Park there. The views were amazing and the boys had a blast swimming. We also visited the wildlife center.

Today we had Roy's family reunion at a local park. The boys went fishing for the very first time and they both caught a fish!
We have been in a custody battle with Roy's ex-wife and she has decided to avoid court and let their son, Trey, come and live with us. The boys are very excited to have their big brother coming to live with us.

I feel like I have been slacking in my blogging! Between two boys, working full time, t-ball, soccer, and housework I have a pretty full schedule. Today was Koy's Pre-K graduation. They sang some songs and then got their "diplomas". I am not going to lie..I had to hold back the tears! We were so blessed that Koy had the most wonderful Pre-K teacher. Koy has made some great friends and he is so ready to go to kindergarten.

We are winding down the last two weeks of Koy's very first year in school! I can not believe how quick the year has gone. He has learned so much and I could not be any more proud of him. We have a small park here in town that has a train ride, tilt-a-whirl, and carasoul. The school rented it out last week and we rode the rides and had a picnic lunch. Koy's favorite part of the whole trip was getting to ride the school bus!
T-ball season has started! After all the rain and muddyness, Koy finally got to have his first t-ball game. All the kids are still learning the rules, but they got out there and had a great time!

Dagan is 2 today!! He had a wonderful party with lots of friends and family. I had a small panic attack because 3 weeks ago when I planned his party, I decided to have it at the park. Who knew that it would snow in Spring?? Well, my wonderful sister in law let me have the party at her house. My grandma made the cake for him (so much better than store bought!). We did a Mickey Mouse theme, because he loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Wow, I probably could break this down into smaller posts, but hey lets be creative! With this week being Spring Break, I needed some fun things to keep the boys busy. On Tuesday, the Chisholm Trail Museum in town was having free admission so we decided to take a trip down there. The boys had so much fun. There was so much stuff for the kids to do!

Roy had a meeting in Enid on Thursday night so we all packed up and stayed in a hotel. We went out that night and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings. Yummy!!!

Friday, Dagan had a check up for his ear infection and he is all better. I was so thankful to hear that. After all the ear problems Koy had when he was younger, I am not sure I can go through that again.

On Saturday, Koy had his first soccer game of the Spring season. His team did so good! They play very well together.

It has been pretty quiet around here lately. I had to take Dagan to the doctor yesterday because he had a fever I could not get to go away. Well, he has his very first ear infection. They gave him a shot because it is a fight to try and get him to take antibotics. We have to go back tomorrow and possibly get another one :(

We finally made it through the ice storm!! We decided on Saturday to have a "Family Movie Night". We rented "Horton Hears A Who" and the boys loved it! They both sat through the entire movie! We all got in our pjs, popped some popcorn, and snuggled on the couch. It was so much fun!!
Has anyone read any of the Twilight books? I finally got sucked into the craze and now I am addicted!! My sister-in-law told me that she really enjoyed them so I thought I would give them a try. I am not much on vampire books, but these are different. I have read 3 of the 4 book series and hopefully I will have time to start on the fourth today! I highly recommend them!

It has been a while since I have done a post, mostly because not much has happened around here. Koy informed me yesterday that it was his half birthday and now he is almost 5 (which almost put me in tears!). He then went on to say he was almost 6 and 7 and 8 etc...all the way to 16 and that put me over the top! So since I do not want to think of my baby getting bigger, I thought I would post some pictures of him when he was a baby.

We have lots of projects coming up!! On Monday is Koy's 100th day of school and we have to decorate a hat for him to wear. We also have to make him a box to use at their Valentine's party. Koy is about to start spring soccer. I am also busy planning Dagan's 2nd birthday party and my sister's baby shower!! Busy, busy, busy!!

A Busy Week And A Little Weekend Fun

My husband and I left on Monday night to go to St. Louis because my Grandma had to have surgery. She was diagnosed in December with pancreatic cancer. The surgery went well and she is on the road to recovery. As hard as the trip was to take, the hardest part was leaving my sweet babies here with their Grandma. Koy had to go to school and I was not sure Dagan could handle 5 days in the hospital. It was the longest time I have ever had to leave them and it was the hardest thing I have done. While we were in St. Louis my cousin, Chris, and his wife went with us to see the Arch. It was VERY cold, but it was nice to get away from the hospital for a bit.

When we got home, we decided to take Koy bowling. He has been asking us for a while to take him and since we had not seen him in so long we were pretty much saying yes to anything he asked! He had so much fun!!

Gingerbread Family

We bought a gingerbread man kit well before Christmas and finally today got around to making them. We made a cookie for each one of us. I did the icing and Koy and Dagan did the candies. Dagan ate more than he decorated! I did have to decorate the "daddy" cookie to support our Sooners on hopefully an upcoming victory over the Florida Gators!!

I forgot to mention that Koy ate "his" cookie before I could get the picture! Here is what is left!!

Our Christmas Holiday

We had a wonderful Christmas!! We started out last weekend and celebrated with Roy's family. That evening my Grandma came down to visit for the week. She brought the boys one of their presents early..a puppy that Koy named Clarabell. She is so cute and the boys are having a blast with her! On Christmas Eve, we baked our Santa cookies, sprinkled our reindeer food on the yard, and got the boys in bed early. The boys woke up early the next morning and opened their presents. Koy was so excited to get a castle with knights!! He has been asking Santa for it for months now!! Koy has also been asking Santa for one more thing...a Wii. We have been having a blast with it!!! That evening we went to Rush Springs to celebrate with my family. My Grandma made ribs and brisket. It was so yummy!! Tonight I think we are going to take the boys to see the Festival of the Lights. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Koy's Christmas Party

Today was Koy's Christmas party at school and he had a blast! There was lots of yummy food and the kids played musical chairs. Instead of bringing gifts, each kid brought a book to exchange. We then took a trip down to the library and all the kids got to see Santa. Most went up there, had their picture taken and left...not Koy! He had to tell Santa everything on his list this year!

This picture is not that great, but I just had to show you the very first homemade ornament that is hanging on our tree!! I am so excited!! They put the kids handprints on the ornament and then made snowmen out of their fingers. I can't wait until my whole tree is covered in "school" ornaments!!

Wedding Weekend

This weekend my cousin got married and Koy was so excited that he got to be the ring bearer. On Friday evening, I met Kayla, the bride, at the church to help decorate before the rehersal. Her color scheme was red and white and everything turned out so beautiful. After the rehersal that night, my aunt had everyone over to her house for tacos. Yummy!! Koy was the cutest ring bearer I have ever seen! He looked adorable in his tuxedo and all the little girls though so also! Cookies, Cookies, Cookies!!

Tomorrow Roy is having a Christmas lunch at work and everyone was asked to bring something. I decided to drag out the cookbooks and make a dessert I have never made before. I settled on making Paula Deen's Monster Cookies. They are delicious!! The receipe made enough cookies to feed a small army, but that just means I get to keep some at home :)

Monster Cookies

Ingredients:

6 eggs

2 1/2 cups, packed brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 24-ounce jar of creamy peanut butter

1 cup (2 sticks) of butter, softened

8 ounces M & M's

8 ounces chocolate chips

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

4 teaspoons baking soda

9 cups quick-cooking oats

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or nonstick baking mats.

2. In a VERY large bowl, combine the eggs and sugars. Mix well. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Mix well. Stir in the M & M's, chocolate chips, raisins, baking soda, and oatmeal.

3. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand about 3 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool.

If you want to make some cookies, but are not sure what kind these are perfect because they combine all different kinds together!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

When Roy got home from work on Wednesday we left to go to my Grandma's house in Fayetteville, AR to have Thanksgiving. On Thursday, we went to my uncle's house and had a yummy meal of turkey, dressing, and all the fixings! After we ate, we took the boys down the the square to see the Christmas lights. Koy rode the camel and the ponys and Dagan was just so excited to see all the lights! On Friday, my Grandma and I decided to brave the crowds and go to Wal-Mart, Target, and Khols. I got some of my shopping done, but the lines were soooo long!!! On Saturday, we took the boys to the mall to see Santa. Koy hopped right up there and told Santa everything he wanted for Christmas and Dagan cried! We had such a wonderful weekend visiting with family. Now to get my Christmas decorations up......

Koy's Thanksgiving Feast

Koy had his Thanksgiving Feast at school today. Some of the kids were pilgrams and some were indians. They had so much food and the kids ate until I though they were going to bust! I am still very swollen and sore from my surgery yesterday so I did not get to enjoy any of the food, but thankfully I felt well enough to make it to the school!

We had Thanksgiving with Roy's family on Saturday. The food was wonderful and I love catching up with everyone. Roy comes from a large family (he is in the middle of 6 kids), so family gatherings are usually pretty crazy!! Along with our Thanksgiving dinner we also had a birthday party for our niece, Torren. She is turing 2 and her birthday falls the day after Thanksgiving this year. The kids had so much fun playing with all their cousins. Roy's sister, Patricia, who he has never met was also here this year. She lived in Mobile, AL and did not even know of her family here. Roy did some research and found her and she decided to move here and get to know her family. She and Roy have the same father and Patricia has been with her mother since she was 18 months old. She just made it into town last week, so it was fun to get to meet her.

We will leave on Wednesday afternoon to head to Fayetteville, AR to spend Thanksgiving Day with my family there. I am very excited!! This will be the first holiday we have been there in a very long time.

I have to go in the morning and have all of my widsom teeth taken out. I am very nervous!! My wonderful husband is taking off work tomorrow to take care of me! Pray for me that all goes well! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Daddy Time...and a sick baby

Roy decided that he would take Koy to Dallas for the weekend to spend some "Koy and Daddy time". Koy was so excited to spend the night in a hotel with his daddy. They read a book every night about a boy and his dad that build a castle and play knights, so Roy decided to take Koy to eat at Medieval Times. Koy came home talking all about watching the knights battle and "hooking rings on their long swords".
Koy also had his end of the season party for his soccer team. He was so happy to get his very first trophy.
Dagan's weekend has not been so much fun! On Sunday morning he woke up sick. He had a deep cough, vomiting everywhere (sorry!), and runny nose. I thought he caught a stomach bug and thought it would go away the next day. WRONG! It stayed for 4 days. I took him to the doctor today and by this time he was already borderline dehydrated. The doctor decided not to put him through the pain of an IV so we decided to try and rehydrate him orally. I stopped and bought him a Sprite and he drank most of it. He seems to be feeling a little better. Nothing is worse than a sick baby that can not tell you what hurts.

Last week I had to pick up two boys from Koy's class and keep them until their parents could come and get them. Knowing that I had three 4 year olds to enertain, I decided that we would decorate some sugar cookies. The boys had so much fun decorating, and then eating, their cookies!

This weekend was a very busy one for us! It started on Friday with Koy's Halloween carnival at school. I volunteered to help with his class's booth. After schooKoy and I drove to Sulphur and picked up Roy's son, Trey. The boys got dressed up and we went to Trunk or Treat at the church. I did not get any pictures of this because their lights were not working and it was very dark! Then we went to Pizza Hut for dinner. On Saturday, we went to Koy's soccer game and then went to Oklahoma City to do some winter clothes shopping. The weather here has been so nice that we have not needed them...but you know how Oklahoma weather is!!

Our Mini Get-A-Way

This week Koy had Fall Break from school on Thursday and Friday and we decided to take a little get-a-way trip with Roy's sister's and all the nieces and nephews. We went to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX and we had a blast! The boys and I left Thursday afternoon and, since he had to work, Roy came down on Friday night. The lodge has a large indoor water park and the kids loved playing in the water. Dagan is truly my water baby!! He would "swim" underwater and bounce around like a little frog! Koy loved the slides and playing with his cousin Daisy.

Today my husband and I went and watched a wonderful movie called Fireproof. It is about strengthening your marriage through prayer and the love of God. We had a wonderful vacation! We left Dallas at 6:50 am on Sunday, September 14th and made it to Orlando in just over 2 hours. The boys did very well on the plane and loved looking out the window. As soon as we got checked into our room, we headed to the Magic Kingdom. Koy loved the Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh rides. The next morning we had breakfast with Mickey Mouse. We had some of the best food on our trip! On Tuesday, we went to Disney's Hollywood studios and the boys got to see Handy Manny, which was one characters they had been waiting to see! On Wednesday, we did Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Then on Thursday it was back to the Magic Kingdom. The only down side we had was the humidity! It was pretty warm and Dagan did not like that at all. Koy is already ready to go back! We left Orlando at 8:00am and, after our three hour drive from Dallas, made it home at around 2:00pm.

Koy had has first soccer practice on Tuesday. He loved it! It is very hard to try and teach 4 year olds that they can not touch the ball with their hands. There are 6 players on the team, all boys, and it is so fun to watch them run around and kick the ball! Their team is called the Wildcats and their colors are blue and yellow. Koy has decided he wants to be number 5. Their first game is September 20th.

On a different notes, we leave for vacation on Sunday. So everyone have a wonderful week and I will post lots of pictures when we get back. Disney World here we come!!!

Its that time of year again...football season! We went over to my sister's house to watch the game last night and we had the necessary staples of every good football watching party. Pizza, chips, dip, soda, and die-hard OU fans that have been waiting for this moment since-well-since the last play of the Fiesta Bowl last year. (Boise State 43--OU 42) My hubby and brother-in-law have been OU fans through all the rough times-- the Oregon game (ouch, dont even ask about this one!), The Boz, and Rhett Bomar (hello, what was he thinking??) Anyway, I love football season and I am already planning our OU vs. Texas watch party. So the game was delayed 2 HOURS for rain last night and when it finally came back on the satellite was messing up, but we ended up getting to watch the entire game thanks to a 2 hour halftime!!

Yesterday was my sister-in-laws birthday so we decided to go out to dinner and have a girls night out. I had so much fun hanging with the girls. My wonderful husband stayed home with the boys and did bath time, teeth brushing and bedtime. He is such a wonderful husband and father. He was off work today so he took Koy to school this morning. Koy was so excited to show his daddy where he goes to get his breakfast and where his backpack goes. We are going tomorrow to sign Koy up to play soccer. In Duncan, soccer is a very big sport and pretty much ever kid plays. I have absolutely no idea how to play soccer, but my husband played when he was in elementary school so I think I will let him handle this one! I am so excited to go and watch Koy play sports!! Dagan has not been feeling well for the past couple of days. He has not been sleeping well, which has taken its toll on me! As sad as I am that Koy is going to school, I am just as happy to get to spend some time with Dagan. He is so funny and has his very own personality. Today we played and even took a nap together! It is so different to be at home with just one child. I decided to go to Wal-Mart and pick up a few things that I have been needing. Well, while I was there I decided it was time to get Dagan's hair cut. I have been trying to put it off as long as I could because they always look so grown up after their first hair cut and I wa not sure if I could handle anything else playing on my emotions!! Anyway, after I did it I am so happy with the outcome. He looks adorable! Hopefully now people will stop calling him a girl.

ABCs and 123s

We have officially made it through our very first day of school!! He did very well when I dropped him off this morning. There were a lot of kids crying and clinging to their mommies, but Koy was very brave. I think it helped me out very much to see him so ready to start a new adventure. I look forward to seeing all the projects and papers that he brings home through out the year!

Dagan has hit a new milestone also! He is now in a "big boy" bed. He loves being able to get in and out of his bed all by himself. Last night was his first night, and it was a little rough. I think I ended up having to put him back in bed about 15 times. Hopefully tonight will be better!

For the last two days I have been a complete and total wreck. Koy is starting school tomorrow. We went last night and met his teacher. She is a wonderfully nice lady and he seems to take to her very well. He had so much fun in his classroom last night and enjoyed meeting all his classmates. There are two boys in his class that he has known for a while now.

Anyway, just to keep me from breaking out in tears again I decided to post this picture of Dagan. The boys got these glasses at a birthday party they went to and Dagan brought them to me to put them on him.

We decided to upgrade our digital camera. We have had the some one for almost two years and, well, they get outdated so quickly. We decided on a Nikon Coolpix L18. I love the color! It is so easy to use and takes much better pictures than our old one.I also had to get a new cellphone because the one that I had was under recall because they were having power issues with them. Of course, one day my just quit working and would not come back on. So now I am having to learn to use a new phone and try to collect all my phone numbers that I had stored in my other phone. What a pain!

A Visit With A Good Friend

I am spending the week at my Grandma's house in Fayetteville this week and yeaterday I went to visit one of my best friends from high school. Jessica and I have been friends since 7th grade and she is the best friend anyone could ask for. Even though we have not see each other in months, when I walked into her house it was like no time had ever passed. We looked at old yearbooks and watch old home videos. She and her husband have been married 7 years and are expecting their first child in November. I loved catching up and hearing all the gossip from the "good ole days"!!

An Amazing Discovery

My husband has been researching his family history for nearly 17 years and this weekend he found an amazing piece of history.

Roy's great-great-great grandfather moved to Oklahoma in 1884 from Missouri. He passed away in 1886 from injuries he sustained during the Civil War. He was buried in the countryside near the families home. Many years went by and the gravesite was lost. Eventually the site was zoned for an airbase to be built there. By this time noone was sure where the grave was at and the tombstone was lost as well. After many years of searching for information Roy decided to give up his search for family information.

In early 2008, he decided to post some information on a geneology blog to see if anyone has any information to share. On July 8, Roy received an email that changed his entire life! A lady from Denton, TX said that she was searching the family as well because she had the tombstone. The tombstone was recovered from a dorm at Texas Woman's University in 1982. She had kept the tombstone under a tree in her backyard hoping to one day return it to the family.

We met Donna and her husband in Davis, OK and my husband got to see William Potes' headstone for the first time. Although this is one mystery solved, there are so many more questions to ask. How did the headstone end up in Denton, TX nearly 100 miles form where William is buried? Why was it in a dorm of an all girls college? Where is William buried?

We are so thankful for the wonderful people who had enough kindness to take care of a wonderful family treasure. We are planning on having a base made for the headstone and putting it next to his wife in the family cemetary.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We started the day by going to a parade. The boys loved that people had dressed up their dogs and were walking them in the parade! We then headed to Hobby Lobby to get supplies to make Koy's birthday invitations (see previous post). In the evening we went to a nearby town to watch the fireworks show. The boys loved the fireworks! We met Roy's sisters and their kids at the firework show and the boys had a blast playing with their cousins.

I went to Hobby Lobby and found some paper and stickers to use. I think I am going to have to order everything else online because I can not find any John Deere stuff in stores. This past weekend we had my step-son, Trey, here for a visit. The boys love it when their big brother gets to come to our house. Unfortunately, he does not get to come and visit that often. It was so very hot this weekend, so we spent alot of time in our pool. I don't have any pictures of us swimming because, well, I just forgot. On Saturday, we took the boys to the drive-in movies and watched Kung Fu Panda. The boys really enjoyed it. I love the drive-in because we can take both kids and not have to worry if Dagan gets a little fussy or Koy wants to go to sleep. We had so much fun (but I think we ate a little too much candy!). It was Trey's first trip to the drive-in and he was most excited about staying up so late!

We had a very fun Saturday this weekend! We started out by going to a little splash park here in town and the boys played with their cousin Tristen. My sister Brittany and I decided to run in the water with the boys and we had so much fun!

The boys and I then came home and played in the backyard and ate a popsicle.We ended the day with a trip to Kiddie Land. It is a small park with a train, Tilt a Whirl, airplane, and a carousel. I had such a fun day hanging out with my boys and my sister!

A Quick Update

I took Dagan to see his doctor yesterday and they did more xrays. They told me he had nursemaid's elbow. From the information I got it is basically dislocating the elbow. It is real common in kids between the ages of 1 and 3. Since he had had it once, he prone to getting it again. They popped it back into place (which was terrible!) and he was fine. There are many ways that kids can get this, but most common are picking kids up by their hands or holding their hands when you walk and they stumble and fall. It just jerks their little elbow bone out of place. I am just thankful it was not broken!

PS-Julie we have joined the club and had to stop and get a sno cone last night!!

Dagan's Boo Boo

We had to take Dagan to the ER last night. He fell and we noticed that he was not using his left arm. My husband felt of his shoulder, elbow, and wrist and when he touched Dagan's wrist he just started screaming. When we got to the ER they did xrays and the doctor did not see any visible breaks. They are waiting for the radiologist to come in today and read the xrays. They decided to splint it just to make sure. We are also waiting on a call from his doctor because they want us to follow up with another xray today. I will keep you posted! Just please pray it is not broken!

Dauphin Island 2008

We had such a wonderful vacation! We left our house at around 7:15am on Friday morning. We finally got to Dauphin Island at around noon on Saturday. Of course the first thing the boys wanted to do was go to the water. We had so much fun swimming, looking for seashells, and eating some good home cooking! We met my grandma there and she kept us full with her wonderful cooking. On Sunday, we went to a large flea market in Mobile. The adults played a game of Cranium every night and we had a blast! We played boys vs. girls and although the boys beat us every game, we will get them next time!!

On the way to the Island, we drove through Biloxi, MS. The devastation from Hurricane Katrina was still visible on every corner.

We had a great trip to Alabama and loved spending time with family. We are now counting down to our next vacation. Disney World here we come!!! Just 3 more months!!!

Fun Weekend!

On Saturday, the boys and I went to my sisters company picnic with her. They had rented the park and a small kiddie amusement park that we have here in town. Dagan got scared on the carousel, so that wa pretty much it for him riding any rides! Koy had a blast. They had a Moonbounce, a "fishing" booth, and lots of other things set up for the kids to do.

On Sunday, we just hung out at home. Roy is sick (darn allergies!!) so he went to the doctor and pretty much spend the day in bed. On Sunday evening, I went to dinner with Roy's mom, sisters, and our nieces. We had a lot of fun with just the girls.

We leave on Friday for vacation!! I am so ready to get away and relax. We will be spending a week at a beach house soaking up the sun!!!

Cartoon Time With Friends

While the boys were watching their cartoons today, they decided to invite some of their "friends" to join them. At first they were all sitting on the couch, but Koy get frustrated because Dagan kept pulling everyone off in the floor. Koy decided to move everyone to the back of the couch and then they all sat and watched "Max and Ruby". It is a favorite show of the boys and they watch it everyday. Koy also has some books and DVDs of the show.

Well its official...Dagan is walking!! He is all over the house and if he falls down, he gets right back up! Koy likes it now that Dagan can come in his room and play. Koy will go gather all the pillows from every room in the house and pile them in the living room. Then the boys will run and jump on them. They can play this game forever!! Fishing Trip

Family Day

About once a month we will pick a day and call it family day. We will spend the whole day together and have a great time. Today we decided to take the boys to Chuck E. Cheese. We had originally planned on going to the zoo, but when we got to Oklahoma City it was about 50 degrees so we decided to skip the zoo! Anyway, after Chuck E. Cheese we decided to do some shopping so we went to Old Navy and then to the mall. Roy and I picked up some much needed summer clothes and Koy got a new pair of flip flops. We finished with dinner at Red Lobster and then headed for home. Once we got back to Duncan, we stopped at Blockbuster and picked up a movie for Roy and me to watch. We decided on "I am Legend" with Will Smith.

As you may remember from some of my earlier posts, my grandma has not been doing too well. Today she was not feeling well and her blood oxygen level was low. My sister took her to the ER in Duncan and they have decided to send her back to the OU Medical Center where she had her surgery. Based upon her blood work she has an infection somewhere and they think it is related to her surgery, she also has pneumonia. We still do not have a lot of information about what is going on, but hopefully she will get back up there with the team that did her surgery and they can give us some answers.

A Day Out With Mommy

Today my boys and I went on a "mommy day out". We had so much fun. We started with breakfast at McDonalds and then went and go the oil changed in the car. We headed over to Lawton and did some shopping. They were having a children's consignment sale where I got the boys some clothes. We then went to the mall where I got a pair of jeans and a shirt from JCPennys and of course we had to get a cookie! We then made a quick trip into Hobby Lobby to get some little things to hang on Dagan's wall. On the way home we stopped at Sonic to eat lunch. We then came back to Duncan and went to Wal-Mart to get everyday essentials (diapers, shampoo, and milk) and I decided to get Koy some craft supplies. He loves to color and with him starting Pre-K next year I would like him to have an idea of how to stay in the lines and how to hold a pencil correctly. He picked out some construction paper, markers, glue sticks, and scissors. We had a great day together!!

Yesterday I took the boys to see my grandma. She got out of the hospital on Tuesday and she is so glad to be home! They recently got some goats and pigs to put in their back yard. The boys were so happy to go to their Memew and Pepaw's house.

Toy Trains

Today I babysat my nephew Mason. Him and Koy both love Thomas the Train and Koy has lots of trains and tracks to play with. The boys drug out all the tracks and started building around Koy's room. They had a blast playing together and Dagan was just in there playing and watching the older boys in awe. On a different note, we got the results of Koy's allergy tests. He is allergic to dust and dust mites, three types of mold, all of which we can fix pretty easy with some simple changes at home, and then we got the news that he is allergic to eggs and milk. So now my baby must be on soy milk and no more eggs. He was very upset yesterday because he asked for a piece of cheese and I had to say no. I went last night and bought him some soy milk, gave him a small glass of it, and sat back and waited for the reaction. He said "Momma, that is pretty tasty!" I was never so glad to hear those words!!
