Happy Birthday Dagan!

March 28, 2007 started out like any other day except one BIG was my due date. I was 9 months pregnant and ready to pop. Koy and I got up, ate breakfast and got dressed. I took him to my Grandma's house like I had been doing every Wednesday for the past month. I headed to my weekly doctors appointment. I was hoping we would go in there and the doctor would say "OK, lets go have a baby"--no such luck! After we answered all the routine questions, he decided to check if I was dilated. He said that he could do what they call "stripping my membranes", he said it was a little painful, but if I was ready to go into labor it should start in 24-48 hours. To be honest, at this point if he told me that hitting me in the head with a sledgehammer would send me into labor I would have told him to swing away!! Anyway, he did his little trick and I left the office feeling no different than when I went in. So I drove the 25 minutes back to my Grandma's house to get Koy. I stayed there for a little while telling her everything the doctor said and then I started feeling some discomfort. I told my Grandma and she said it was no big deal, it wasn't that bad---yet. My sister asked me to drive her to work, so we loaded up Koy and my niece, Lexi to ride with us. On the drive my contractions were still coming and they were starting to get painful! We timed them and they were every 3 minutes. I called my doctor and he told me to come in and he would check me out. I had already dilated to 5 cm. He sent me to the hospital and then it hit me I am going to have my baby today!! At the hospital, they got me in my room and then it was the waiting game from there. At 5:30pm Dr. Waters came in and broke my water, 8:30 I was begging for my epidural, 9:30 I started to push and at 10:00pm I had a beautiful baby boy!! He weighed 9 lbs 3 ozs and was 20 inches long.

My boys are such a blessing and they remind me to slow down and enjoy life. With them it is ok to go outside barefoot and play in the dirt or have a tea party with real water and cookies, you can always clean up the mess. Children are such a blessing and you should cherish every moment that you have with them. They grow up way too fast!

I can’t believe how fast our boys are growing up. It seems like it was just yesterday I was leaving work to come be with You, Amanda, and the kids at the hospital. Then we started our walking and waiting game. Life is crazy!! Love Ya

What a special day! We go through a lot to get these babies here, but it's all totally worth it. They grow so fast!
